IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

This resource is provided for educational and reference purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Pasgrove Notary Services is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.

Notaries may not select a notarial act or certificate on behalf of a signer when doing so would constitute the unauthorized practice of law. When the appropriate notarial act is not already specified, the signer, document, receiving agency, attorney, or other authorized party should determine which notarial act is required.

Notary laws, administrative rules, certificate wording, and commissioning requirements may change. Notaries are responsible for confirming current requirements with the Massachusetts commissioning authority or other official government source before performing a notarization or relying on a certificate form.

The certificate forms included in this guide are provided as state-specific reference forms. Notaries remain responsible for determining that a certificate complies with current Massachusetts requirements and is appropriate for the requested notarial act.
